Great on pancakes, crepes, popovers, or ice cream!
Ingredients
-
1/4 cup butter or plant-based butter substitute
-
2 apples peeled, cored, and diced, though they are also great with the peels on!
-
4 Tbsp brown sugar
-
2 tsp cinnamon
-
1 tsp nutmeg or less to taste
-
1/4 cup maple syrup
-
3 Tbsp Carmel Berry Co Elderberry Syrup
Directions
Add butter, diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon to a medium saucepan. Stir the mixture over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes, or until the apples are very tender.
In a separate measuring cup, combine your maple syrup and elderberry syrup.
Scoop the apple mixture onto warm pancakes, then top with the elderberry-maple syrup. This recipe makes four servings, and the apples and syrup will keep well in the fridge for a few days if you decide to save some for later.
